Become a Founding Member of the Oakville Bluegrass Cooperative!

While last year introduced some challenges and disruptions to nearly everyone in agriculture, including the Cooperative, we are energized and ready for 2026 to be a great year for growth, grower support and program execution. The California Soil Restoration Project has already enrolled nearly 10,000 acres for soil carbon measurement and tracking, setting the stage for growers to get paid for their commitment to soil-health initiatives. Also, our USDA grant funding pivoted to the Advancing Markets for Producers program. We now have the ability to deploy up to $13,750 to members who plant perennial cover seed across up to 110 acres. The grant funding and administrative support we provide can be used for hybrid bluegrass, or for customized perennial seed mixes!

Programs, grant funding, discounted seed purchasing and other new member benefits will be  exclusively available for Oakville Bluegrass Cooperative members. Via the perennial seed grant funding alone, membership has the potential to yield a 26 to 90x return on investment.

While our grant funding will eventually support several hundred members, grant administration, seed planning and purchasing for 2026 will be processed on a “first in, first out” basis. Growers who join or renew their membership during our Q1-2026 Founding Members Campaign will receive priority support all the way through the Q4 planting and soil sampling season.

  • Members who join by 3/31/2026 will receive 50% off of their membership fee for 3 years

  • By joining or renewing by March 31, members secure their participation in up to $13,750 of perennial seed through AMP for 2026 (pending USDA confirmation of eligibility)

  • By joining or renewing by March 31 and opting in to the California Soil Restoration Project, members will be positioned to get paid on their “2027 Vintage” of soil carbon.

  • OBC members are best positioned to tap into future grant opportunities

  • OBC members will steer the future direction of the Cooperative’s resources
